As is tradition we spent Memorial Weekend camping at Deception Pass (the top of Whidbey Island in Washington - about two hours from home). It was so beautiful!! When we got there the sun was shining and we were sure that was going to be the only sun we saw all weekend. Luckily we were wrong and it only rained a little bit on Friday night. Kenzie said a prayer before we left and asked that it would be sunny - we were so blessed! It was cold at night, but the rest of the time was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. My cousin Kurt and his wife Bonnie came and camped with us. It was their first camping experience in Washington. I warned them they would not all be like this, and the massive blue tarp should be an indicator of how things typically are :)
The campsite:
The beach....Jaron figured out how to do a "sand angel", Kurt figured out if you took rocks and stacked them against a log then covered them with sand you could make a recliner, Bonnie flew a kite and napped on the beach, Paul hit rocks in to the water (like always), I took a nice nap and Jack and Kenzie built lots of castles.
At the end of the trip we took the time to stop and walk out on the bridge:

Looks fun, and suprisingly sunny. I know why you napped in the day though...it was too cold to sleep at night!
Camping with kids...you must teach me how to do that. :) So glad you had a good trip. We miss you guys.
