Day of Service 2012

In 2009 Pres. Obama encouraged everyone to  remember 9/11 by participating in a Day of Service for your community.  Our church and community have continued to keep that tradition alive.

This year for the day of service we were tasked with taming of a local wilderness area so it could be replanted and beautified.

Here is the before our three hours of work:
All of our kids participated and worked....most of the time :)  Jack was a trooper and stayed with us the entire time.

The after picture:

This was the pile of mulch they had us leave so they could spread it at another area .  This is about 1/10 of what was there when we go there.
....our boys were king of the hill!

First day of School 2012

First day of school - Jack is entering 4th grade and Kenzie is in first grade:

Here are the pictures in front of the school sign:

Jaron started his first day of preschool the next day, but insisted on wearing his same "first day of school" clothes.  (Thanks to Brigitte for these awesome pictures):

Off to another year of adventure!!!

Last trip of the summer - Wenatchee/Chelan for Memorial Day

For the last weekend before school started, we went over to visit our good  friends in Wenatchee.  One of the days we were there we took their paddle board, and went to Lake Chelan.  It was SOO beautiful and so much fun!  I apologize that these pictures are upside down.  I edited them three times and can't get them to go the right way.  I'm sure it is user error :)
Jack was the first one to stand on the board

Right after... :)
All the kids (except Jaron) on the paddle board

Cute picture of my baby and the Sorensen baby :)
